The Moose File System (MooseFS) is an Open-source, POSIX-compliant distributed file system developed by Core Technology. MooseFS aims to be fault-tolerant, highly available, highly performing, scalable general-purpose network distributed file system for data centers. Initially proprietary software, it was released to the public as open source on May 5, 2008.

Fevzi Ozbek will cover the new features introduced in MooseFS v4 and will also provide brief practical comparisons of MooseFS vs other Software Defined Storage Systems available.

Fevzi is the former Director of West Quad Computing Group at HMS, and now works as an independent consultant.  He has been involved with MooseFS since the first production installation of MooseFS v2 at HMS in 2013.
